When three daring filmmakers locate the final survivor of Ukraine’s harrowing 1930s famine, they get far more than they bargained for. Deep in the remote woods where villagers once turned to cannibalism, an even darker spirit haunts the area–the ghost of Andrei Chikatilo, the notorious Russian serial killer who once preyed upon victims in this very forest. As the crew tries to document the survivor’s story, they stir Chikatilo’s ghost from its slumber–and it soon hungers for new prey. One by one, the friends disappear and die in savage ways that mimic the killer’s horrific MO, as the maniacal entity possesses their bodies and minds. Torn apart by paranormal forces they can scarcely comprehend, the few remaining crew must escape Chikatilo’s bloodlust before they too join the lunatic’s growing list of victims lost in the cursed woods forever.
